Quality, Local, Award Winning
Locally sourced, homemade, tasty food and quality beverages are the mainstay of The Midland.
In the CAMRA Good Pub Guide for several years and winners of CAMRA Awards, The Midland has 3 hand-pulls and stocks a constantly changing selection of local and nationally produced ales, ciders & perry. Alongside the ales there is a selection of craft beers & cocktails, malt whiskey & wine, soft drinks & coffees.
Every August a 3-day beer festival is proving to be a very popular event with visitors and locals alike.
Cumbrians are fond of their pub food and proud of their local produce. The Midland menu includes favourites: local butchers Cumberland sausage, homemade lasagne with best local minced steak, slow braised local steak & ale in a giant Yorkshire pudding, plus homemade vegetarian dishes, gorgeous homecooked fish pie and many more. Take a look at our menu.
We aim to use as many local suppliers and locally produced ingredients as possible. We use Appleby Creamery award winning cheeses, all our meat is locally reared and supplied from Low Howgill Butchers & Deli or Appleby's family butchers, Dowdings.
Local suppliers include: Farrer's Coffee, A Stephenson, Made by Sarah, JMP Foodservice and Caterite.
